Congratulations to Jody Fassinger from Hants & Dorset Gardening Services in Christchurch (http://hantsanddorsetgardening.co.uk/) for setting a new world record by pushing a lawnmower 92.7km (58.6 miles) in 24hrs.
Jody made his attempt, mowing laps around Kings Park Athletic Centre, Bournemouth, pushing a Honda HRG466PK Izy Lawnmower that Christchurch POwr Tools donated with the help of Honda Lawn and Garden. The mower was chosen for its known reliability, and it was flawless, running non stop for 24 hours.
There is no current Guinness World Record for the attempt by an individual however the longest distance by a team of four is 162.936 km (101.2 miles) and was set by members of the Stowmarket and District Round Table in Suffolk in 1997.
To reach this distance on his own without any break (other than for comfort!) is truly a remarkable achievement, and we look forward to reading the official results in the Guinness Book of World Records.
